Dr. Eric Russell, Associate Professor in the Department of Chiropractic Sciences at Parker College of Chiropractic, was named Texas Chiropractor of the Year by the Chiropractic Society of Texas during the annual Texas Convention. "I was honored and humbled to have been given this award," said Dr. Russell.
Dr. Russell joined the Chiropractic Society of Texas in 2002. He has served as President for three consecutive terms and has made numerous contributions to not only the Chiropractic Society of Texas, but also the entire chiropractic profession.
Dr. Russell teaches Chiropractic Philosophy III, and SOT, and is an assistant in Gonstead class at Parker. He also maintains a private practice in Commerce, Texas. A published author and international speaker, Dr. Russell reaches out to share chiropractic philosophy and his experience with chiropractic to as many as possible.
Even with his busy work schedule, Dr. Russell still manages to find time to be involved in many chiropractic organizations including International Chiropractors Association (ICA) Council of Chiropractic Philosophy, Association for the History of Chiropractic, and the Loyal Legion of Chiropractic Philosophers just to name a few.
Dr. Russell credits his great mentors when asked what made him a successful chiropractor. "I have tried to stand on the shoulders of those who came before me," said Dr. Russell. "I am grateful for those that have sacrificed so much to allow us the benefits we enjoy today in the chiropractic profession."
Dr. Russell lives a three dimensional life when it comes to chiropractic by involving his family, teaching, and practicing. He loves watching students develop, seeing tremendous results impact patients' lives, and sharing the experience with his family. "I love sharing chiropractic with all of the different facets of my life," said Dr. Russell.
One of Dr. Russell's goals is to leave the chiropractic profession better than he found it. "I have tremendous respect and belief in chiropractic," said Dr. Russell. He was drawn to become a professor at Parker by thinking of the thousands of students he can potentially inspire that will have an affect on thousands of patients.
"Parker has amazing culture of inspired faculty, staff, chiropractors, alumni, and students," said Dr. Russell. "I think Parker is the best chiropractic college in the world."
