Workplace Violence in the Current Economic Crisis

On Thursday, April 30th 2009, beginning at 10 A.M. (PST), former Secret Service Agent and Henley-Putnam University President and Co-founder Michael Corcoran, PhD, will share his thoughts on workplace violence and the current economic crisis in this month's Henley-Putnam University teleconference.

Dr. Corcoran will discuss corporations today and how they are concerned for employee safety and even more so due to the economic necessity of reductions in the employee force. This discussion will include some of the issues surrounding current workplace violence along with some specific ways of handling or mitigating potential problems.

There will be a brief Question & Answer session following the teleconference.

About the Presenter
Dr. Corcoran is a former agent of the United States Secret Service (Protective Intelligence Division). He is also the founder of The Workthreat Group, LLC of Newport Beach, California. Dr. Corcoran is one of the country's foremost authorities in threat assessment and work place violence and consults regularly with numerous World Fortune 500 companies. Dr. Corcoran has authored and published books and articles on the subjects of high risk security and threat assessment. He earned his Ph.D. in Behavioral Science from Newport University, Newport Beach, CA in 1979. He is the author of Violence Assessment & Intervention: The Practitioner's Handbook 2003, CRC Press. This book is considered a standard on the subject of workplace violence prevention.
