Assessments in Talent Management: Strategies to Improve Pre- and Post-hire Performance

(PRWEB) April 29, 2009 - While 90 percent of all organizations use employee assessment to evaluate talent before a hire, only 61 percent of organizations adhere to ongoing assessment to improve performance, according to a recent Aberdeen study sponsored in part by SilkRoad technology, inc., the leading provider of talent management solutions. The study, "Assessments in Talent Management: Strategies to Improve Pre- and Post-hire Performance" examines how leading organizations use assessments to recruit, develop and retain top talent.
Aberdeen interviewed approximately 400 executives for the study and found 61 percent of all organizations currently use form assessments in their talent management initiatives with another 16 percent planning adoptions for next year. The analysis found that though nearly 9 out of 10 organizations used assessments for "screening for fit and skills in the pre-hire/pre-interview stage" the Best-in-Class organizations set themselves apart by using assessments in the post-hire stages of talent management. By doing so the Best-in-Class organizations "achieved superior year-over-year performance gains."
