Uclick will also offer free Dramacon and Screamland apps throughout the Free Comic Book Day promotion.

"Our goal with this promotion is to join in the spirit of Free Comic Book Day and raise awareness of the event and the medium," said Uclick CEO Douglas Edwards. "We are making it easy for people to try a comic book from our collection, and nothing's easier than downloading it on your iPhone or iPod Touch for free. Our hope is that this promotion will spur interest not only in our digital comics, but comics in general, and that those people who download the free apps will also take an interest in the variety of printed books available in their local comic shops.

"Comics are a wonderful and truly American tradition and we are privileged to play a part. We hope this promotion brings new fans to comics and customers to the shops that sell them."
