First 100 Days - Achieving Excellence in Florida
The Florida Self Storage Association (FSSA) has worked diligently over the past 100 days to bring value to its Membership. The results have been tabulated - and the initial goals set in January have been exceeded.
Palm City, Florida (PRWEB) May 5, 2009 -- The results of the first 100 days of 2009 are in - and the accomplishments are plentiful! The FSSA has exceeded its goals, and is ahead of schedule for achieving the initiatives set forth in January. Accomplishments include:
Affiliation with the National Self Storage Association (SSA) - On April 1st, the FSSA and the SSA joined forces to support each other, but more importantly to benefit the members of our Association. This will allow for legislative assistance on issues that affect members in Florida, and FSSA members will become indirect members to the SSA.
Conference/Expo -A successful conference took place in Orlando, which encompassed 10 educational sessions, 63 Exhibitors, and a State of the Industry panel featuring the top operators in the self storage industry. In addition, over $3,500 was raised for the Special Olympics Florida.
Education Sessions - 6 education sessions held in 3 cities, reaching over 100 members - sharing methods of survival in today's economy through phone sales, revenue management, marketing, facility upgrades, and perfecting the lien on delinquent tenants.
Member Survey - In an effort to ensure the Association has updated information on its members, a survey is in full swing. Congratulations to Margaret Steiner of StorSafe Self Storage, the happy recipient of a 5 day cruise for two! Margaret was automatically entered into the drawing when the survey was received.
InPrint Magazine - This 28 page, full color magazine was distributed to 3,500 owners/operators/ managers/vendors in the self storage industry in March, 2009. This issue focused on ideas to help owners of facilities work through the economic downturn, while preparing members to get ready for the upswing.
Communication - The FSSA is utilizing electronic methods of communication by sending emails and press releases. It is a priority to the Board of Trustees to communicate with you, our members - to keep you abreast of the happenings of the Association.
Stay tuned as we roll through Q2. Some things to look forward to: new website, more education sessions and value added services to our members.
