The first gay marriage battle was fought in Mankato Minnesota almost 40 years ago by Michael McConnell and Jack Baker to be able to file jointly on their taxes and leagalize their relationship. Most people thought they were lunatics to take the case to the courts back then, but with the recent exposure in the media to gay marriage the gay and lesbian community of Minnesota is ready to carry the tourch where McConnell and Baker left off.

About Merry Me Minnesota:
Marry Me Minnesota is an all-volunteer organization that exists solely to challenge Minnesota laws against the right for same-gender couples to marry. Our organization was founded by a group of same-gender families who live day-to-day with the government's discrimination and we came together because it is up to us to make the change we seek. We cannot afford to rely on someone else.
