Walkin'Bag Announces Opening of New Sales Operation in the Intermountain West and Enjoys Success at TGA Show
Swany Walkin'Bags has been around since 1996, when CEO Etsuo Miyoshi, a polio survivor and busy traveler, took a chance on a developing a bag with "lean on" feature--a bag that "walks with you" and supports your weight. Now Walkin'Bags announced the opening of its new sales office in Layton, Utah for stronger U.S. presence and operations in the West. The new sales and marketing team was in full swing at this year's Travel Goods Association trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada in mid-March.
Layton, Utah (PRWEB) May 1, 2009 -- Walkin'Bag, a division of Swany America Corporation, has announced the opening of its new sales office in Layton, Utah. Walkin'Bag executives are pleased to have a strong U.S. presence and operations in the West. The new sales and marketing team was in full swing at this year's Travel Goods Association trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada in mid-March. The annual trade show offered a perfect venue to showcase Walkin'Bags' innovative travel products to buyers and distributers.
National Sales Manager Sid Magill said, "Our booth was busy with interested parties who liked our products' 'lean on' it design. Our patented curved handle gives support while you walk and while you stand--up to 300 pounds. Some models include a built-in chair that allows you to take a short break and rest your legs while you wait in long lines. You can't get much better than that from a bag."
Walkin'Bag executives realize in hard economic times retailers are competing for customer dollars more than usual. Magill said, "Buyers aren't clinging to current lines. Instead, they're eagerly looking for products and new concepts that give customers benefits and function."
"We knew buyers would be searching for new and innovative products that will catch customer's attention and entice them into the stores," said Marketing and Production Manager Toru Sasaki. "Our booth had a steady flow of buyers because our products serve a purpose other than just carrying stuff. When you're traveling and moving around, that makes a difference."
Walkin'Bags are known for their "lean on" feature and "sit-on" feature making the bags distinct and different. Sasaki noticed, "The buzz was obvious. People would say, 'Wow! You've got a built-in seat!? That bag's so light-weight! With four wheels you don't have to drag your bag!' Overall, we were so pleased with the overall reception of our products."
Company executives wanted to give buyers a new reason to buy travel goods. Walkin'Bag products give them that reason. They reduce stress and require 1/6 the effort of traditional travel bags. The caster wheel technology allows the bags to "glide" effortlessly alongside the user.
