Are You Ready To Rightsize Your Life? Wyndham Homes Introduces the Smaller, More Affordable Emerson Model at Chatfield Farms
Wyndham Homes has responded to the trend toward smaller homes for thriftier seniors, by putting their own award winning signature on a not so big house. Using their trademark Flexibuild System, Wyndham provides extraordinary homebuyer choice in a comfy, highly customized home.
Beacon Falls, CT (PRWEB) May 1, 2009 -- According to author Ciji Ware, in her popular book, Rightsizing Your Life, baby boomers are realizing that more isn't always better. They are simplifying their surroundings, so that they can focus on what matters most.

AARP research shows that baby boomers are beginning to look for smaller homes, and as a result, floor plans of new homes have been shrinking by about 250 to 300 square feet on average.
In response to homebuyer requests, custom builder, Wyndham Homes, has introduced a not so big model at their award winning Connecticut community, Chatfield Farms. The Emerson offers 1,376 square feet of elegant simplicity at an affordable $339,000. There are only six Emerson style homes currently available.
"The challenge was to produce a smaller, more affordable home, while giving our buyers the open floor plan, attention to detail and flexibility to customize that sets Chatfield Farms apart," explained engineer and Wyndham Homes partner, Richard Schunk. "The Emerson emphasizes comfort and easy living, while offering our buyers - quality over quantity of space, choice and value."
A Flexibuild Allowance is included in the sales price, and can be used to customize each home's front exterior as well as interior options and features. On the interior, buyers can opt for a finished lower level plan or choose from three loft floor plans, should they want to finish the second floor. The choice extends to optional features like a sunroom, extended deck or screened porch.
Richard Schunk explains, "Over the last few years, homebuyers purchased larger homes because they could afford it, even though they didn't need it. Now, people will only buy what they actually need."
Marcia and Roger Addil recently moved to Chatfield Farms from a large house in Orange.
"We just need to get more people to realize that it's a great time to buy," said Marcia.
