Rye Brook, New York (PRWEB) May 3, 2009 -- Doral Arrowwood, the premier hotel in Westchester, today announced its Executive Sous Chef, Brett August, has been named one of ten finalists competing in Season 5 of The Next Food Network Star.

Since coming to Doral Arrowwood in 1998, Chef August has advanced from the role of Prep Cook to being number two in command as the Executive Sous Chef. August had also served as Banquet Sous Chef, PM Sous Chef and Chef at the Company's Provare Restaurant along the way.

"At Doral Arrowwood, we pride ourselves on offering award-winning cuisine and a distinctive dining experience," said Steve Mabus, General Manager of Doral Arrowwood. "We are excited to have a member of our renowned culinary team take part in such a prestigious competition and look forward to seeing Brett compete."

Drawing from his 11 years of experience at Doral Arrowwood, August was able to apply many of the skills he learned in the commercial kitchen to his experience on The Next Food Network Star.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to share my unique culinary perspective on The Next Food Network Star," said Brett August, Executive Sous Chef at Doral Arrowwood.
