Higher Education Compact Announces Agreement with Mitel

The Midwestern Higher Education Compact has a new agreement with Mitel®. Higher education institutions, K-12 school districts and education-related non-profit organizations may purchase off of the Mitel contract. Significant discounts are available on Mitel's 3300 and 5000 Communications Platform.

Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) May 5, 2009 -- Through a recent agreement between the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC) and Mitel®, a market leader in providing productivity enhancing communications solutions, MHEC members may now receive significant discounts on the Mitel® 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP) and Mitel® 5000 Communications Platform (CP).

The agreement is a result of an RFP process conducted by the Midwestern Higher Education Compact's Network Hardware Committee. This new program is in line with MHEC's strategic goal to increase cost savings opportunities to the Midwestern region. The program offering not only brings direct cost savings to MHEC members but also offers additional benefits derived from MHEC's ability to negotiate savings for services and training.

"These new communication platforms made available through the MHEC/Mitel agreement offer customizable systems for your campus," explained John Dunning, director of Network Operations Center for Wayne State College in Nebraska. Dunning led the RFP committee that landed the agreement with Mitel.

"Our campus experts have worked tirelessly to bring everyday technology to the college campus, K-12 school districts and education-related non-profit organizations. MHEC's ability to aggregate its purchasing power across state lines continues to bring savings back to our states," said MHEC President Larry Isaak.
