Macy's Hosts Women from Becky's House and MANA For a Special Mother's Day Makeover
Macy's Chula Vista hosts five women from Becky's House and from MANA's Hermanitas Program on Friday, May 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 noon, for a special makeover as part of their Mother's Day Beauty Gala, which will take place on Saturday, May 9.
Chula Vista, CA (PRWEB) May 7, 2009 -- Macy's Chula Vista hosts five women from Becky's House and from MANA's Hermanitas Program on Friday, May 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 noon, for a special makeover as part of their Mother's Day Beauty Gala, which will take place on Saturday, May 9.
The Gala is intended to raise funds for both organizations that reach out and support women. "Macy's Chula Vista is thrilled to host the women of Becky's House and MANA for a day of beauty. It is our privilege to reach out to our community. We hope every woman who attends today feels pampered and special," said Dolores Hickman, Store Manager.
Each of these ten women will be treated to a complete makeover and each will receive a gift bag, courtesy of Macy's.
About Becky's House
Becky's House programs include a confidential emergency shelter for women and children in immediate danger, providing them with 30 days in a safe environment to determine their next steps and, a transitional residential program, where 70% of the residents complete the program and secure employment and permanent housing.
About MANA de San Diego's Hermanitas Program
Hermanitas (younger sisters) is a national initiative focused on encouraging Latinas to stay in school and to pursue high academic goals. The goal is to develop the talent and skills of young Latinas in middle school, through educational programs at the National Hermanita Summer Institute; Local Hermanitas program; Girl Scouts partnership; online mentoring; community service; and school based initiatives.
