The contest aims to find and celebrate people who have transformed their community from so-so to sensational. Both the grand-prize winner and nominator will receive free groceries for a year.
Each week, Friends of Elsie members can nominate, and vote for, the inspiring stories of selfless acts and community involvement at http://www.friendsofelsie.com/singlesensations.asp. The contest runs through August 31, 2009, and anyone can sign up to be a Friend of Elsie through the Web site.
