Corporate America Gets Help for Difficult Leaders
Relational Life Institute Announces Professional Development for Corporate Coaches and Consultants
Boston, MA (PRWEB) May 7, 2009 -- Relational Life Institute Chairman Terry Real announced the launch of a new business unit that will certify and train corporate coaches and consultants in a method that transforms difficult business leaders into more effective relational leaders. The new division is called Relational Life Consulting (RLC), and it is focused on equipping consultants and coaches with the tools they need to instruct leaders on how to better manage relationships in an increasingly complex world.
Terry Real, Relational Life Institute founder and chairman
The inherent problem with counseling difficult leaders is that they do not respond well when their flaws are pointed out to them. Consequently, corporate coaches and consultants tend to soft-peddle their counseling in an attempt to mollify the client, thus watering down the message and the results.
Relational Life Consulting provides corporate coaches and consultants with the knowledge they need to confront their most difficult clients and help them to increase their relational skills. RLC-trained professionals will learn how to help the most inflexible leaders see the cost their behavior has on the organizational system. They will also learn how to guide their clients to achieve a new way of being and a new style of management.
Terry Real is a nationally acclaimed psychotherapist and best-selling author who has spent the last thirty years developing the tools that help people become more successful at managing important relationships. He is one of the few in his profession to address the grandiose behaviors that typify the difficult executive with a very high success rate at rehabilitating clients out of grandiosity and into healthy relational behaviors. The training offered through RLC is based on Mr. Real's therapeutic model.
"People want the same things from relationships whether professional or personal," says Mr. Real. In a world of shifting business landscapes, he asserts that the old hierarchical business model based on vertical networks with individuals working "above a system" is obsolete. "The new model is relational with horizontal networks where we're each part of a system and moving with it," says Mr. Real. "This model requires new, highly authentic, relationship-focused leaders."
The pilot workshop titled "Working with Difficult Leaders" will be led by Mr. Real and the RLI faculty on June 5-6, 2009 in Boston. It is open to executive coaches, human resources professionals, corporate internal and external consultants and corporate training professionals. Interested parties can learn more about the course and register at www.realrelational.com.
