USSA's Jesse Hunt Joins the Park City Ski Team

The Park City Ski Education Foundation (PCSEF) announced today that Jesse Hunt, currently the US Ski Team Alpine Director at the US Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA) will join the Park City Ski Team as the General Manager and Program Director on June 1st, 2009.

Park City, Utah (PRWEB) May 11, 2009 -- The Park City Ski Education Foundation (PCSEF) announced today that Jesse Hunt, currently the US Ski Team Alpine Director at the US Ski & Snowboard Association (USSA) will join the Park City Ski Team as the General Manager and Program Director on June 1st, 2009.

Hunt will succeed Dave Galusha who is retiring after managing the Park City Ski Team for the last 13 years to National prominence on the alpine ski club racing scene during which PCST alumni such as Olympic Gold Medalist Ted Ligety, Steve Nyman, Bryon Friedman, T.J. Lanning, Megan McJames, Hailey Duke, Tim Jitloff and others excelled on the World Cup circuit.

"We began a deliberate succession plan late last year. When this opportunity presented itself we felt it was the perfect fit for our club. The fact that we were able to attract a person of Jesse Hunt's caliber is a testament to the success and growth that the Park City Ski Team has achieved under Dave Galusha," said George Woods Baker President and Chair of the PCSEF Board of Trustees. "I've obviously had a phenomenal run these past 13 years. It's really one of those bittersweet moments for me. The process of finding my successor happened quicker than I expected, but I think this is an extraordinary opportunity for the team and something they can't pass up. And, of course, I'm happy to be able to continue with the team in other ways," said Galusha.

Hunt joined USSA in 1993 and initially held a variety of positions including European Cup coach and World Cup technical coach. In 2002 Hunt was named to the position of USSA Alpine Director and recently has been part of what is arguably the most successful stretch of alpine results in US Ski Team history which includes 4 overall World Cup titles, 4 Olympic medals and 18 World Championship medals.

Hunt is very familiar with the Park City Ski Team having begun his career with the club back in the early 1990's. "My years with the US Ski Team have been tremendous and I look forward to bringing my coaching, training and management experience to the Park City Ski Team" said Hunt. "I began my coaching career at the Park City Ski Team nearly 20 years ago and have lived in Park City ever since so the opportunity to return, lead the program, and give something back to the community makes this a special and exciting next step in my career. I look forward to leading a ski program that is already regarded as one of the strongest in the Country" added Hunt.
