U.S. Navy Crew Receives a Small Taste of Home

Management Resources of America Sends Care Packages to Essential Unsung US Navy Crew

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 12, 2009 -- The staff of Management Resources of America (MRA), the industry leader in attorney based debt settlement servicing, learned of a small US Navy boat known as the LCU 1617 currently attached to the USS Comstock and were touched by the vessel's diminutive size yet vital and often unheralded function. The LCU 1617 and her young crew quietly yet efficiently move resources and personnel from one ship to another insuring each ship in the fleet receives proper support. This particular fleet of ships are currently at sea for an estimated five to eight months on a training and humanitarian mission.

"We have their group photo posted on our bulletin board." said college intern Scott Ingram. "I look at them and see they are my age and I realize that while I am safely here working and attending school, they are out in the middle of the ocean working every day going weeks or months without touching land defending our freedom, helping others and sometimes risking their lives to do so. I think the least we can do is send them small packages filled with reminders of home."

Since the boat's deployment MRA has sent cards and packages to the crew members and do so each month. "My Uncle Rich always spoke of his service and how much he cherished any mail from the states. I am honored to have this opportunity to carry on the tradition for this group of young sailors," said Vice President Irene Rittenhouse.

Over the past few months, using wish lists provided by the sailors, the staff of MRA has sent magazines, Oreo cookies, cards, dice, dominoes, Yo-Yos, hot sauce, various chips and crackers, Rice Crispy treats and more. Packages to be mailed this month will include more greeting cards, snack mixes, nuts, chips, dried fruit, granola bars and, just for fun, a few toys to remind them of home.

"This experience has been such an inspiring one," said Accounting Manager Marianne Notter. "I see those young faces on our bulletin board and think, 'someday that could be my son.' Knowing that each of those young faces is the son or daughter of parents just like me is a sobering thought. Their child is risking his or her life to help the lives of others and defend our country. Those parents must be so proud yet anxiously counting the days until their child safely returns. I feel privileged to participate in this effort to bring a touch and taste of home to these outstanding young men and women."
