Supporting Our Most Natural Resource - Moms!
Happy Mother's Day from Wiggle Giggle Learn
Charleston, SC (Vocus/PRWEB ) May 10, 2009 -- There is no doubt about it - we are who we are because of our moms! Dictionary.com defines the term mother as a noun to mean a female parent that exercises control, influence, or authority. And, as a verb to mean to acknowledge oneself the author of; assume as one's own; to care for or protect like a mother and to act maternally toward.
Assuming this definition is the most accurate portrayal of what a mother is and what she does - where does she learn how to be this amazing person? She is expected to learn to exercise control, influence and authority with no mother guidebook or experience. Her on-the-job training requires hours of unselfish labor to "learn the ropes" of her newest profession - "mommy hood!" Many times she is also working outside the home to provide a financially stable home to care for and protect her children. Our mothers have to have amazing flexibility, patience, decision-making and organization.
The founders of Wiggle Giggle Learn are celebrating motherhood and trying to help make mom's job a little bit easier. Teresa Mayer of Maryland has been using their Play2Learn program with great success for the past six months and she says, "I think I am learning more about 'learning' than my two-year old. I can't believe how different I am as a parent since beginning this program. I was all but consumed with buying things for him to play with and now I am consumed with finding more time to spend playing with him. I can't believe how easy it is to 'teach' him new things. He is so happy and truly does love to learn. I am less stressed about my role as a parent, which my husband loves."
At Wiggle Giggle Learn, moms (and dads) are defined as their child's favorite teacher. Tracey Bryant Stuckey, co-founder states, "the point is not to turn anyone into a super mom or to define motherhood as something that demands perfection. The mission behind our Play2Learn program is to offer moms the guide they have always dreamed of for becoming the best 'author' of their children's life while engaging in fun activities that promote learning through playful experiences. The moms using our program are becoming certified play experts for their children - mom and dad are their favorite toys."
On Mother's Day, reflect on what the best gifts are that you are giving to your children. Bryant Stuckey, founder of Wiggle Giggle Learn wrote a blog post that outlined her predictions for how her four year old son would describe her in twenty years. Her post begins with "she tells the truth and if she happens to make a mistake, she admits to being wrong. She taught me to trust." To read all of her post and to begin writing your own predictions visit her blog. After making predictions for what you envision in the future it will be easy to set smaller goals to behave your way to the results of your dreams. Happy Mother's Day!
