Kaboose Launches New Website for Cookie Jar Entertainment's Mommy & Me: Features Wide Variety of Tools Including a Playgroup Finder, Nicknamer Tool

Kaboose Inc. (www.kaboose.com) announces the launch of a redesigned website for Cookie Jar Entertainment's Mommy & Me brand (www.mommyandme.com). Mommyandme.com is geared toward mothers with young children. HIghlights: improved Playgroup finder, powerful playgroup organizer tools; and Nicknamer Tool.

Toronto, ON, Canada (PRWEB) May 11, 2009 -- Kaboose Inc. (www.kaboose.com), one of the world's largest family-focused new media companies, announced today the launch of a redesigned website for Cookie Jar Entertainment's Mommy & Me brand (www.mommyandme.com). This new website, geared toward mothers with young children, embodies Mommy & Me's goal of celebrating and enhancing the special bond between moms and their children.

The website gives moms the opportunity to find local playgroups and organize their own, connect with other moms, and search for articles and activity ideas conveniently sorted by ages and stages. Highlights include an improved Playgroup Finder and powerful playgroup organizer tools. Mommyandme.com tools differ from other group organizer tools because they were developed specifically by real moms who are looking to connect with other moms and children through playgroups.

"Online social networking sites are enhancing, but not replacing, the experience of the classic neighborhood playgroups which are critical avenues of support, advice and socialization for mothers and their kids. Moms still need tangible bonds with other area moms," explains Alexandra Aleskovsky, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Online Media Properties for Kaboose. "But modern, busy lives make it hard for playgroups in the real world to stay connected and thrive. We've created these easy-to-use tools for the Mommy & Me website in order to help local playgroups stay vibrant."

"We are pleased that through this new website Cookie Jar is able to offer mothers throughout the U.S. and Canada the opportunity to connect with each other. With the redesign of Mommyandme.com, moms can easily share ideas, advice and find Mommy & Me playgroups near their homes," says Ken Locker, Cookie Jar Entertainment's Senior Vice President of Digital Media.

Mommy & Me was developed in 1979 by child development psychologist Dr. Cindy Nurik as a series of classes connecting new moms with other moms with the goal of socialization and developmental play for their kids, with the added benefit of social networking and support for parents. For more than three decades, Mommy & Me has become synonymous with the very concept of playgroup. Through Cookie Jar Entertainment, Mommy & Me has evolved into a brand that celebrates the special bond between mom and child in all aspects of their lives: online, through playgroups and with merchandise.

In November 2008, Cookie Jar Entertainment signed a five-year agreement with Kaboose, Inc. to revitalize its Mommy & Me brand online and distinguish its unique environment through the launch of a new premier website.

Mommy & Me users now have access to a number of new and improved features including:

  • Improved Playgroup Finder with the ability for users to add playgroups.
  • Powerful free playgroup organizer tools that allow users to organize their local playgroups. Each group gets a private message board, calendar with RSVP capabilities, file sharing area, group notes area, as well as the ability to customize the page and add affiliate marketing links.
  • The ability for users to now add friends, see friend updates, update their user profile, send personal messages and invite users to their playgroup or the website.
  • Activities and Advice easily sorted by ages and stages, plus new sections specifically geared toward playgroup members and organizers.
  • Nicknamer Tool that allows users to share their own nicknames heard on the playground and to tell their stories.
