Cash For Scrap - Scrap Your Old Van And Get £2000
Car manufacturers are aggressively promoting their new "cash for scrap" schemes since it was officially confirmed in Alistair Darling's recent budget.
Flint, United Kingdom (PRWEB) May 14, 2009 -- Car manufacturers are aggressively promoting their new "cash for scrap" schemes since it was officially confirmed in Alistair Darling's recent budget. Anyone with a ten year old banger to trade in will get at least £2000 off the list price of a new vehicle. Vehicles registered before 31st July 1999 will qualify.
A spokesman for Staveley Head, one of the UK's leading van insurance providers said, "Due to the extensive promotion of the scheme most people are now aware that they can get a £2000 trade-in on their ten year old car if they buy a new one, but very few realise that the scheme also extends to small vans. That is vans under 3.5 tonnes."
"The car market is far larger than the van market and we assume that is why it has received greater promotion. Anyone wishing to trade-in their old van will find that the dealers will do all the paperwork, as well as arranging for their old car to be scrapped."
But to avoid a black market in scrap vehicles, all participating vehicles must be DVLA registered, have a valid MOT Test Certificate and the recorded keeper must have had the same UK address for more than twelve months.
The scheme is open to all new vehicles under 3.5 tonnes, not just low pollution models and comes into effect mid-May 2009.
The Staveley Head spokesman went on to say "Many manufacturers are endeavouring to boost the potential of the scheme by offering supplementary discounts on larger vehicles and we as insurance brokers will be supporting the initiative by offering substantial discounts on all van insurance quotes we give."
Staveley Head is one of the leading van insurance specialists in the country, and will give all the advice and assistance needed regarding this matter, including a very competitive van insurance quote
