Philosophy Communication Wins 2009 ADCD Paper Fashion Show
Art Directors Club of Denver names Philosophy Communication's peacock outfit winner of the 2009 Paper Fashion Show
Denver, Colo. (PRWEB) May 15, 2009 -- Paper fashion isn't just for childhood paper dolls anymore. Paper fashion has hit a new level of originality: the runway. Philosophy Communication, Inc., a Denver-based marketing and public relations agency was honored as winner of the 2009 Paper Fashion Show.
Philosophy ruled the runway with a "paper" strategy that the fashion show has never experienced: capri paper pants. With 380 attendees and 37 competitors, Philosophy Communication dazzled the crowd with a delicate peacock ensemble made of finely cut paper pieces and folds accompanied by large moveable paper wings.
Competing against Colorado's most up-and-coming art directors, Philosophy Communication was the only marketing/public relations agency in contention for the prize.
Chris Thomas, president of the Art Directors Club of Denver, commented on the success of the night by saying, "Every year, our competitors continue to push the creative envelope, taking the event to a new level. It's great to recognize companies like Philosophy, whose innovative approach help make our event one of the most creative events of the year."
The strategy Philosophy chose for the winning outfit was similar to the company's marketing strategy practiced daily. Philosophy Communication recognized that paper pants was a challenge waiting to be tackled. "We wanted to use the paper in a new way and one that stood out," said Jennifer Lester, co-founder of Philosophy Communication. Folding, cutting and arranging the paper in small pieces created a new idea recognized by the judges and audience.
Philosophy Communication is proud that its innovative strategy created something new and led to a victory for a cause. Nearly $4,000 was raised for DAVA and the ADCD scholarship fund.
