Dublin, Ireland (PRWEB) May 16, 2009
Given the current bleak economic climate we find ourselves in, a massive 93.6% of people surveyed said they believed a good summer would lift the mood of the nation. Following the rainy summers of 2007 and 2008, Sandtex Exterior paint and http://www.IrelandDeservesSun.ie have conducted a survey proving that the Irish public are willing to do almost anything for a good summer for 2009.
Sandtex conducted the survey to find out just how desperate the Irish are to see the sun after two disastrous summers in a row. If they thought that prayer would help, two thirds of Irish people would be willing to talk to the man above for sun this summer.
Not altogether in-keeping with the religious theme, when questioned 80% of people agreed they felt friskier in the sun which may be linked to the nine out of ten surveyed who felt that Irish people look better when the sun shines. However, some things remain sacred, with only a hardcore sun worshipping 12% of people saying they prefer sun to sex - two out of five said they enjoyed sun and sex equally!
While we may be known throughout Europe for our fondness of the tangerine tan look, a whopping 62.2% of us have fallen victim to the dreaded "Farmers Tan", and so desperate are we for a bit of colour that 45.7% of us would rather a bad tan than no tan at all.
Already, over 1,200 fans of the Ireland Deserves Sun Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ireland-Deserves-Sun/75920912858) also agree that the Irish weather will just not suffice, but have also expressed their passion for how much they love Ireland when the sun shines. Over 60 people on Twitter are following the "Sandtex Insider" to stay up to day on the campaign (http://www.twitter.com/sandtexinsider).
http://www.IrelandDeservesSun.ie is dedicated to furthering the cause of those in chronic need of sunshine. Participants in the petition for a good summer will receive t-shirts, aprons, and beach towels when they submit their stories, photos, and videos to the Ireland Deserves Sun website. And the big winner will receive a 5 star holiday weekend at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa in Killarney.
So just log on, join the campaign, and who knows, perhaps a little prayer could go a long way this year!
