Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 17, 2009

Over the past year, the number of baby boomers who use social networks, including blogs, online forums, podcasts and videos has grown by at least 50 percent, opening up new opportunities for marketers who want to reach the generation born between 1946 and 1964. That's why the International Mature Marketing Network is hosting a one-hour webinar on Wednesday, May 20, at 11 a.m. EST, to share insights on how marketers can identify and take advantage of blogs that influence the way boomers make decisions.

Kevin Lavery, president of IMMN, the first and only global association to champion 40+ marketing, said, "Baby boomers are much more technologically savvy than they are usually given credit for. The fact is many of them not only read blogs, they write them. Part of our job at IMMN is to help marketers better understand all the vehicles at their disposal to reach boomers."

In the webinar, called "Bodacious Blogging Boomers," Marilynn Mobley, senior vice president and strategic counsel for Edelman, and a senior leader in the company's Boomer Insights Generation Group™, will share research and her personal experience as a blogger to offer participants an inside look at how boomers interact with blogs. Mobley has been blogging for several years and is the author of the popular Baby Boomer Insights blog.
Webinar participants will learn:

  • What boomers are looking for when they go in search of online information;
  • How boomers use blogs to influence their peers;
  • Why your company should have a strategy for blogger outreach; and
  • How to harness the power of boomers who love to share information online.
To register for the webinar, visit http://www.IMMN.org. Non-members can participate for $50 (refundable if you join IMMN), while members can attend with no fee. Members of the media can also attend for free with proper credentials.
