New York City (Vocus) May 19, 2009

It was a truly emotional and moving evening for all who attended the Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation's 9th Annual Partners for Life Gala. Held May 14th, 2009 at New York City's Marriott Marquis Hotel, the turnout strongly exceeded expectations. Despite the tough economy and the Madoff scandal, almost 800 guests arrived to show their support. It was a night not only of new and old friendships, but marked by a commitment to progressively move forward into the future.

Len Berman, famed New York sportscaster, served as emcee for the evening, bringing his brand of acerbic wit to the crowd. Gala Chairs Jane and Marvin Brown, began the night by reinforcing Gift of Life's mission to the survival of many. Three of Gift of Life's selfless donors were also introduced to their recipients for the first time, having the opportunity to say to one another how their shared experiences have profoundly impacted each other's lives.

The high note of the evening came as details of a new fundraising and marketing initiative were revealed. Through the use of technology, a state of the art infrastructure and newly launched web site created by Blue Fountain Media, will allow Gift of Life's supporters to not only make their own contribution, but to reach out to friends, relatives and acquaintances through donor circles, Twitter integration, and social media. This new, highly scalable approach allows Gift of Life to continue to provide valuable services to those in need. Martin Levion, former Director at Société Général and long-time supporter described in detail how the program would work.

Additionally, a surprise announcement was made that Warren Eisenberg, Chairman and co-Founder of Bed Bath & Beyond and member of the Gift of Life Board of Directors, had offered to match all contributions made that evening up to $100,000. The attendees gave generously and matched the entire matching offer.
