Orange County Business Journal's Women in Business Award Nominee Rebecca Cooper

Rebecca Cooper has been nominated for the Orange County Business Journal's Women in Business Award. The event is Orange County, California's program to recognize the accomplishments of the community's outstanding business and professional women. The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Irvine, on Thursday, May 21, 2009.

Rebecca's book, Diets Don't Work® Structured Program; Healing the Cycles of Yo-Yo Dieting and Emotional Overeating will be released June 1, 2009. Diets Don't Work® Structured Program is a novel based on the author's personal triumph over disordered eating. It is a guide on how to break the emotional ties that bind us to food, overeating, and weight gain and live a healthy rewarding life. The Diets Don't Work® program was created by Rebecca and is successfully being used by recovery homes, treatment centers, therapists, clients, and at Rebecca's House Eating Disorder Treatment Programs™.

Rebecca is the Founder of Rebecca's House, the first transitional living residence for women recovering from eating disorders, and Rebecca's House Eating Disorder Treatment Programs™ located in Orange County, California. There she heads up a team of psychologists, therapists, registered dietitians, exercise physiologist, psychiatrist, medical doctor, acupuncturist, equine therapists, life coach, yoga instructor, and support staff.

Rebecca is a licensed California therapist, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. Her innovative program, the Diets Don't Work® Structured Program, is successfully being used by recovery homes, treatment centers, therapists, clients, and at Rebecca's House Eating Disorder Treatment Programs™.

In October 2004, Rebecca was honored as the first Rising Star in Business by WomanSage©, an event sponsored by the University of California at Irvine Medical Center. The award was in recognition to her innovative approach to helping women with eating disorders and her dedicated service of helping others recover. Ms. Cooper was the first President of the Orange County Chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. She will be featured in Pepperdine University's Alumni magazine in the upcoming June 2009 edition.
