Brian Solis, Web Public Relations Innovator, Says on IdeasProject.com that the Connections People Make Through Social Media Are Inspired by Ideas
Video interview with Solis featured on IdeasProject, Nokia's new website, which helps users find connections between thought leaders and their "big ideas" about the future of communications
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 20, 2009 -- Brian Solis, Web visionary and Principal of New Media agency, FutureWorks, says the unique connections made between individuals on the basis of shared passions are what drive social media. Whereas the technology allows our relationships to constantly expand, contract and shift, the information we share with our followers on blogs and other self-publishing platforms creates ties that bind us.
A video interview with Solis discussing how information and ideas connect users of social media is featured on IdeasProject, a website developed by Nokia. IdeasProject is an online "information space" that provides a new way to interact with thought leaders and their big ideas about the future of connected communications. For more on Solis's big idea, visit: http://www.ideasproject.com/idea_person.webui?id=3417
"We're not connected as much by relationships as we think. We're connected by ideas," said Solis. "We're connected by the things we are passionate about. It's the information we are sharing over the Web that is connecting to people uniquely. And the relationships created are forged on ideas."
"Social media has made it easier than ever for people to publish their thoughts and ideas on the issues they care most about," said Valerie Buckingham, Director of Technology Marketing, Nokia. "Examples abound on the Web of people who share and post their ideas via such platforms as blogs, Twitter, or Facebook. People are able to create new relationships with users who share similar passions. We look forward to featuring more of Solis's provocative thoughts about social media's ability to promote ideas that foster relationship-building on IdeasProject."
Over the next month, editors from the IdeasProject are featuring their favorite ideas as submitted by the public and sending a Nokia N95 to the 'Big Thinker' who contributed. Share and submit your 'Big Idea' with the world by visiting http://master.ideasproject.com/userideasubmit.webui
