Sport Court® Provides 40 Playing Surfaces for USA Adult Open Volleyball Championships in Minneapolis May 23-30

Sport Court's 20th Year As A Partner For The Games, More than 135,000 Square Feet of Response ™ Surface Will Be Put In Place. 480 Teams from the U.S., Brazil, Venezuala and Canada Will Compete.

Minneapolis, Minnesota (PRWEB) May 22, 2009 -- When the USA Adult Open Volleyball Championships open on Saturday, May 23, Sport Court® will be providing the playing surfaces for the 20th year of the event. The games run through May 30.

Sport Court is providing 40 full-sized playing courts of its Response™ surface, the equivalent of 135,000 square feet. Nearly a quarter of a million Response tiles will be set in place in the Minneapolis Convention Center, where men and women volleyball players from throughout the world will gather for the event. Sport Court is the official supplier of playing surfaces for USA Volleyball.

Bill Kauffman, USA Volleyball Spokesman, said about 5000 individuals and 480 teams will take part. Some will be coming from as far away as Brazil, Venezuela and Canada, as well as virtually every state within the U.S.

There are 29 playing categories for both men and women, starting with Men's and Women's Open and going to Women's Age 70 and over and Men's age 75 and over. The Division with most teams will be Women's A, with 54 teams. Men's A will have 51 teams. Interestingly, the Women's 50 and over will have two Brazilian and one Canadian team in the competition, said Kauffman. For more information go to
