Ball Ground, GA (PRWEB) May 22, 2009 -- When a child announces what their future occupation, it's almost a surefire bet that they won't become that - typically because kids want to be superheroes, animals or royalty. With some encouragement from a kindergarten teacher, Brenda Harris Tustian realized her dream early: she wanted to be an artist. For the last 25 years, Tustian has been making a go with her art; in fact, she has her work featured at 40 art shows a year.
Because of this demand, Tustian and her partner, Mike Kendrick, launched www.BrendaHarrisTustian.com five years ago: "We realized that the internet is the ultimate communication avenue right now," said Kendrick.
Harris's site features several of her works, most of which are limited edition prints. Harris's work is symbolic of classic Americana; she's able to capture the serenity of an artist such as Norman Rockwell, but with her own unique take.
"The paintings are from my heart," said Harris. "The things that I feel will touch peoples' hearts as well as mine."
"Brenda has a strong focus on God, family and country," said Kendrick. Her work has found a fan in President Bush and her paintings hang in Georgia's state capitol. The cornerstone of her art - an annual series of Santa-inspired paintings - has also found a home in the Pentagon. With these patriotic ties, Harris and Tustian donate some of their profits to the children of fallen soldiers, cancer research and children's health care.
In conjunction with www.BrendaHarrisTustian.com, the duo has also launched www.PersonalizedArtBlog.com. "We're anticipating our blog being the avenue where our collectors and customers can discuss topics that they're interested in," explained Kendrick. "They are able to ask Brenda questions concerning the artwork - her techniques, subject matter and anything that relates to its personalization."
There aren't too many artists who can capture the beauty of classic American art and Brenda Harris Tustian is clearly an artist who can carry the torch for several generations to come.
