Are You Selling Father's Day Gifts Without Mr. Dad's Approval?

MrDad.com and GreatDad.com Join Forces Again to Honor Dad-Friendly Products and Services.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 23, 2009 -- MrDad.com and GreatDad.com--two leading sources of experience, recommendations, inspiration, and advice for dads--announce the continuation of their highly successful program designed to recognize products and services that are both good for dads and kids and facilitate father-child relationships.

With Father's Day just a few weeks away, families around the country are being bombarded with advertisements for must-have gifts for Dad. As a manufacturer or marketer, it's almost impossible to break through the clutter--until now.

Starting today, GreatDad.com and MrDad.com invite entrepreneurs, small and large businesses, manufacturers, merchants, services, and relevant websites to submit their products to be considered for both the Mr. Dad Seal of Approval and GreatDad Recommends processes. Submissions can be made at either at GreatDad.com/Recommends or MrDad.com/seal. Nominations for products and services submitted by dads and families are also encouraged.

"There's a shortage of information out there for dads who are looking for things they can enjoy with their kids," said Paul Banas, founder and CEO of GreatDad.com. "We want to provide a ready list of products and services that, among other criteria, are educational, fun, and promote more interaction between dads and kids."

The MrDad Seal of Approval is already trusted by some of the toy world's biggest brands--including Lego, HabaUSA, Disney, and the Magic Schoolbus Series--as well as a host of smaller companies. Recent seal winners include etendi BRIDGE software that allows dads and kids to communicate over the internet in a closed, safe system.

"We're thrilled to partner with GreatDad.com as we believe that both seals recognize products and services that support our shared goals of giving dads the resources, tools, and information they need to be the fathers they want to be and that their families need them to be," said Armin Brott, best-selling author, parenting expert, and founder of MrDad.com.

To earn the Mr. Dad Seal of Approval and GreatDad.com Recommends award, a product or service must:
- Help dads get or stay involved with their children
- Improve the quality of the time fathers and children spend together
- Improve father-child relationships
- Help dads be better parents.

Invention: A Necessity of the Father
While the famous proverb "Necessity is the mother of invention" gives credit to moms, the seal programs recognize that fathers look for and need solutions too. These days dads are not only more actively involved with their children, but are also some of the top entrepreneurs when it comes to creating products fostering interaction with children.

"Dads are looking for 'kid-friendly' labels or seals of approval on products and services," says Dr. Howard Bennett, pediatrician and author of Waking Up Dry and Lions Aren't Scared of Shots. "Dads should care if a product or service bears these seals because this means real dads have looked at the product and not only given some thought as to whether it's apparently safe, fun, reputable, good for kids, but have seen the product in action and tested it." Dr. Bennett is a member of the review panel for the GreatDad.com Recommends and MrDad.com Seal of Approval programs.

Together, GreatDad.com and MrDad.com feature a number of dad-entrepreneurs who have started businesses that arose out of their own parenting needs as fathers. "Although we've won many awards, I am most excited about the Mr. Dad Seal of Approval," said Craig Olson, creator of the Baffle Gab board game. "The Mr. Dad Seal of Approval assists Dads around the country to identify games that bring families together for quality time while having fun and learning. A great combination!"

"As a dad, I always wondered how far I traveled while pushing my kids in their stroller--and this was the genesis of the Strollometer," said Dan Weber, co-founder and CEO of the award-winning Strollometer. "Being featured as a GreatDad.com Recommends product has been hugely successful for us. We could immediately see a jump in our web hits, and overall, the exposure has been a very targeted and very efficient way to reach fellow Dads! I would recommend 'Recommends' to any dad-preneur."

The single application submission process for both programs is $129 per product submitted. This is not a pay-for-play award. The fee covers administrative costs and is not a guarantee that a specific product or service will receive either award.

Entries for the joint GreatDad/MrDad.com program can be made at either website: MrDad.com/seal or GreatDad.com/Recommends. Individuals can also view currently recommended products at each site. In addition, GreatDad.com features a Father's Day 2009 gift guide, highlighting great gift ideas for every type of dad.
