25 Percent of UK Adults Ditch Travel Insurance to Cut Costs
Post Office reminds holiday makers to remember travel insurance during short break season
London, UK (PRWEB) May 24, 2009 -- As the summer holiday season fast approaches, many people across the UK will be scouring the internet in a bid to bag their bargain bank holiday break in Europe. But as the recession continues to bite, many cash-strapped holidaymakers may decide not to take out travel insurance in a bid to cut the overall cost of their getaway.
In fact, according to a Post Office Travel Insurance survey, almost a quarter of UK holidaymakers would consider going on holiday in 2009 without any kind of travel insurance to save money.
However, people must realise that travel insurance is a necessity, not a luxury, and deciding to go without could have serious financial consequences if something was to go wrong. With a number of cheap travel insurance deals on the market, people needn't worry about racking up huge costs by taking out policies for their holidays.
If someone hasn't already invested in an annual travel insurance deal or does not think they will be able to afford to, Post Office points out that some companies offer a single trip travel insurance policy from as little as £5.50 per person, per trip.
