European Equestrians are Looking for Horse Properties in the USA, Says horseproperties.net

Foreign horse property buyers are taking advantage of their exchange rate and the good values of American properties. Four out of ten foreign buyers paying cash.

Novato, CA (PRWEB) May 27, 2009 -- "We have never had so many inquiries from Europe as this year", says Barbara Greenhill, CEO of www.horseproperties.net, a website specializing in advertising horse properties, equestrian estates and horse ranches.

Agents she has spoken with have also noticed the trend, though she is not sure if this trend comes from the internet's ability to showcase listings to worldwide audience or because of the value European buyers are getting in the United States at the moment. Another reason could be that the European baby boomers hit the market and can now fulfill their American dream.

Surveys from the NAR are saying most foreign buyers are looking for good deals; nevertheless the average foreign real estate buyer pays 36% more for his property than the average domestic buyer. Florida and California have at the moment horse properties at prices few dreamed of in recent years. A horse property is in general not the typical real estate investment: "The foreign horse property buyer is looking for a different lifestyle rather than looking for a place to park their money." says Greenhill. "The amount of land you are able to buy at an affordable price in the USA is unheard of in most European countries, where the population is much denser. This makes America attractive for Europeans."

The beauty of foreign real estate buyers is that they are often paying in cash: Four in ten buyers purchased in 2008 their properties without a mortgage.

'The internet helps to attract foreign buyers." Greenhill is sure. "Nowadays buyers can see exactly where the property is located; it doesn't matter if you sit at a desk 9 miles or 9,000 miles away." www.horseproperties.net delivers detailed information that equestrians like to know.
