LocalQuoter Reveal UK Homeowners Over-Estimate Their Property Value

We like to think that our homes are valuable, whether it's the building itself or the contents held within, an increased awareness of property value in the media has meant we're more aware of how much our homes and property are worth. Local Quoter have revealed that UK homeowners are currently over valuing their properties.

Manchester, UK (PRWEB) May 28, 2009 -- We like to think that our homes are valuable, whether it's the building itself or the contents held within, an increased awareness of property value in the media has meant we're more aware of how much our homes and property are worth.

A recent study from Abbey Mortgages has found that the British homeowners are actually unaware of the true value of their homes, it has been discovered that UK homeowners believe their homes are worth roughly £35,000 more than the true value of their property.

This view is maintained by LocalQuoter's Les Yates, saying "We receive a lot of requests for quotes from people looking to add value to their home. But they don't seem to appreciate how they can maximise its potential as they are unsure as to how much it's worth already."

Localquoter believe that in order to get the perceived values that many homeowners believe their house is at, they will need to invest in their homes by the way of extensions, double glazing or renovation work. Extensions or conservatories are popular in the UK for those looking to increase their property value.

It is estimated by HSBC that by merely adding a conservatory to your home will add an extra £7,000 to your property value. UK residents are advised that if they intend to sell their property or remortgage then they should get their homes professionally valued first.

Local Quoter can help source the best solution for a wide range of home improvements like new kitchens or conservatories, even modern, efficient windows and doors. All of these can help make your property value increase and make your house more attractive to buyers.
