The Collaborative Communications Summit announces that AHCA, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (BCBSF), Humana and Availity will participate on a panel discussion addressing the critical role Health IT is playing transforming healthcare information exchange at the upcoming Spring CCS Health IT Summit taking place June 16 and 17, 2009 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 28, 2009 -- The Collaborative Communications Summit announces that AHCA, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida (BCBSF), Humana and Availity will participate on a panel discussion addressing the critical role Health IT is playing transforming healthcare information exchange at the upcoming Spring CCS Health IT Summit taking place June 16 and 17, 2009 in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Future collaborative efforts on improving medical quality and cost through electronic health records (EHRs) will play a critical role in moving our healthcare system forward to a more affordable and efficient system. State and national stakeholders, along with technology providers, working toward common goals such as rapidly deploying EHRs will be essential in this process.

The session entitled, "Transforming Care through Collaboration," will highlight partnerships and present the key aspects of each program that played critical roles in each project's success. The panel will be moderated by Mary Kelley, Director of Product Management at Availity. Panelists include Christine Nye, Director of the Florida Center for Health Information and Policy Analysis at the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA), Janna Meek, PAHM, Director of Integrated Provider Process Solutions at Humana and Catherine Peper, CISSP, CISM, VP of Provider Technology Solutions at BCBSF.
