"Summer School" Offers Training Boost To University, Public Sector Accounts Payables
International Accounts Payable Professionals targets challenges specific to educational institutions
Orlando, Fla. (PRWEB) May 29, 2009 -- International Accounts Payable Professionals (IAPP) has announced an Education Symposium being offered for the first time in summer 2009.
This one and a half day workshop includes topics such as student refunds, building effective faculty-administrator relationships, university procurement card programs, fraud, and various other issues facing AP professionals in the education field.
Michael Mallon, IAPP vice chairman of the board - education and director, accounts payable, Northeastern University, said of the niche offering, "Although the accounts payable functions in the corporate world and in the education field share many similarities, there are enough challenges unique to educational institutions which predicate a symposium like this one. I think it's about time that the industry recognizes the importance of accounts payable in an educational environment, and IAPP is stepping up to the plate."
The IAPP's Education Symposium will be offered at Northeastern University in Boston on August 20-21, for $395 for members and $495 for nonmembers. Additional details are available at www.TheIAPP.org/regional
