Austin, TX (PRWEB) May 28, 2009

VidaOne Inc., a global leader in health and fitness mobile software, announced today that its fitness iPhone and iPod Touch application, GymNow, is available on the Apple App Store. This new product takes advantage of the unique features of the iPhone and iPod Touch to guide health-conscious people throughout their workouts automatically.

GymNow is a strength training fitness application specifically designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch that includes all the features required to build strength training routines from a workout and exercise database, plan them using an integrated calendar, record them through an automated live recorder, and analyze them using various charts.

While working out, the live recording shows what exercise to do, which set, how many repetitions, how much weight to use, how long to rest, etc., using clearly-readable text and timers. On-the-fly changes can be done to accommodate the exact routine being followed. Workouts are then stored on the device and can be reviewed and edited at a later time. GymNow can be customized to use American or Metric units, specify the exercise speed and rest time between exercises, or use one of the provided graphical themes.

"Given people's busy schedules, our #1 goal was to provide the most effective way to conduct workouts in a minimum amount of time," said Jean Gareau, president of VidaOne. "GymNow allows you to build and customize your workouts, and it guides you through them on-the-spot while working out, allowing you to restart an exercise or skip it if needed, so that you can entirely focus on properly doing each exercise, while keeping the rest periods to a minimum, a requirement that makes workouts more valuable while saving time. And it does so while recording them at the same time."

"We built GymNow, in part, based on MySportTraining, our fitness Windows Mobile application that has won awards for five consecutive years, so we could bring to the iPhone and iPod Touch users the features our customers have enjoyed for years on other mobile devices," said Gareau.
