Henley-Putnam University President Giving Seminars on Violence Prevention for Health Care Industry
Dr. Michael Corcoran, President of Henley-Putnam University, gives audio conference on "Handling Violent Patients & Visitors: Tactics to Avoid Liability & Crisis"
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) May 28, 2009 -― On February 26, 2009, Dr. Michael Corcoran, President of Henley-Putnam University, was asked to give an audio conference for "Progressive Healthcare Conferences," an Arizona based company specializing in producing high quality programs for the Healthcare industry and executives across the United States. The event was very well received as the topic, "Handling Violent Patients & Visitors: Tactics to Avoid Liability & Crisis," as it is a major concern by many medical health facilities and individuals. The event was so successful it has prompted numerous other requests for Dr. Corcoran to bring his brand of understanding and experience on the topic of violence recognition and prevention to other Health Care Industry organizations, most recently SCAN Health Care, where he has delivered 12 hours of training thus far and is slated to conduct another 30 hours over the month of June.

Dr. Corcoran created the Threat Assessment course for Henley-Putnam University drawing on his former 34 years of law enforcement experience in this arena, including his time in the U.S. Secret Service where he often was identifying and handling potentially dangerous individuals. Since 1988, he has also had his own consulting firm, The Workthreat Group, LLC, which has allowed him to specialize in this type of work.
