Peter Simonsen, the newly appointed Credit Union Practice Leader, joins Abound Resources, Inc. bringing more than 20 years experience working with Credit Unions.

With his extensive industry experience, as well as in-depth technology experience, he is familiar with all the strategic and operational aspects of a credit union, and has assisted credit unions with Strategic Information Technology Planning and Systems Selection.

Prior to joining Abound Resources, Peter was the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of a $900 million asset credit union in Arizona. As the CIO, Peter was responsible for strategic technology direction and tactical implementation of all technology deployed throughout the entire credit union.

Before becoming CIO, Peter was the Director of Strategic Credit Union Services at RSM McGladrey and was responsible for all Credit Union consulting engagements from over 60 locations with over 200 consultants.

Peter has consulted with credit unions that ranged in size from $20 million to over $3 billion in assets on projects such as: Strategic Credit Union Business Planning, Credit Union Operations Improvement Assessment, Information Technology Assessment and Planning, Credit Union Technology Selections (Core System, Internet Banking, Bill Pay, E-Statements, Remote Deposit), Contract Review and Negotiations, Vendor Due Diligence Strategy, and Delivery Channel Optimization and Management.
