Door to Door is donating all transportation and storage fees on a total of three moving and portable self-storage containers containers. Containers will be on-site in the Roxbury and Jamaica Plain neighborhoods at Marcella Park, Malcolm X Park and at the Crawford Street Playground in Boston. From the revitalization of outdoor classrooms to the transformation of a former dormitory into a new food pantry, the Serve-a-thon will greatly enrich the community with the efforts of its volunteers.

"City Year Boston has many volunteers dedicating time and effort to benefit many neighborhood sites during our May 30 Serve-a-thon," said Rick Jakious, Deputy Director of External Affairs, City Year Boston. "We are very pleased to have the support of Door to Door Storage as the donated containers help us make sure the supplies we need for our volunteers are conveniently located near the sites we are working so hard to improve."

City Year Serve-a-thon originated as an idea to expose communities to the idealism and culture of City Year, as well as raise funds for corps members so they can continue their work in schools and communities throughout the entire year. During Serve-a-thon, City Year corps members, community officials, volunteers, students and business leaders unite to beautify green spaces, transform schools, paint murals and provide much needed support to community organizations.

"Door to Door is pleased to have the opportunity to support the City Year Boston Serve-a-thon on May 30," said Annette Jacobs, president and CEO, Door to Door Storage. "As a company we are committed to serving and supporting the communities we are located in and welcome opportunities to help out such as the Serve-a-thon."
