The Philadelphia Tribune, the nation’s oldest and the Greater Philadelphia Area’s largest newspaper serving the African-American community, will honor its founder, Christopher James Perry, Sr., with the placement of a special commemorative gravesite marker as kick-off to a yearlong 125th anniversary celebration.

Philadelphia, Pa. May 26, 2009- The Philadelphia Tribune, the nation’s oldest and the Greater Philadelphia Area’s largest newspaper serving the African-American community, will honor its founder, Christopher James Perry, Sr., with the placement of a special commemorative gravesite marker as kick-off to a yearlong 125th anniversary celebration.
The newspaper will continue its year of anniversary programming with follow-up events including a special networking event and reception for African-American social clubs; the publication of a new 125th Anniversary coffee table book and a 125th Anniversary Gala, which will be held in November 2009.
