Portland, OR (PRWEB) June 9, 2009

In a marketplace populated by larger regional and national ticket retailers, the time was ripe for an alternative to step in and help those selling and buying event tickets online. Enter Tickets Oregon. This brainchild of Grammy-nominated jazz musician Patrick Lamb recently launched as a new, alternative online ticket resource. With a fresh new logo, redesigned tickets and updated online identity created by Portland-based Quango Design + Marketing, an independent, full-service graphic design agency specializing in creative branding, marketing and interactive solutions, Tickets Oregon is positioned to recreate the online ticket experience.

The Beginning
"As an artist and event producer, I saw firsthand the cost and challenge of ticketing events with the big national retailers," said Patrick Lamb, Tickets Oregon founder/owner. "It always came down to higher fees and a lack of personal attention. These big guys really didn't have anything to offer small venues, nonprofits and up-and-coming artists."

Tickets Oregon is Lamb's response. The redesigned online portal uses the latest technology--including social network integration, secure online purchasing and instantly printable PDF tickets--to lower the cost of event ticketing while simultaneously offering 24/7 insight and ticket sale tracking for event promoters.

Collaboration With Quango
"In Portland and throughout Oregon, you've got this distinctive, fiercely independent spirit. Tickets Oregon captures and reflects this, and you can see it throughout their new identity," said Dave Anolik, Quango's chief creative officer. "Hearing Patrick describe Tickets Oregon, it was clear that he understood both his marketplace and the unmet need of consumers."

New Logo, Web Presence
Helping Tickets Oregon meant first developing a new look for the Tickets Oregon Web presence, a critical component in building a robust online community. Quango found inspiration in the organization's stated mission and purpose. In redesigning the site's main homepage, Quango also showcased those events and early adopters choosing to work with Tickets Oregon.

"One of our core values is building community by encouraging the networking of customers to venues, promoters and non-profit organizations," added Lamb. "The ability to showcase our supporters front and center on our site and through social networks makes this possible."

Ticket Sellers Get More
With Tickets Oregon's administrative 'dashboard', sellers can check in 24/7 and see in real-time the number of tickets sold. From the dashboard, event representatives can also manage ticket scanning on the day of their event. Through a partnership with Clear--a wireless Internet provider--any laptop PC and ticket-scanning device can become a ticket kiosk.

"In my years of selling through larger distributors and working with promoters, we always felt left in the dark in terms of how ticket sales were progressing on any given day," said Lamb. "With the dashboard featuring Quango's look and feel, event administrators can get the information they need, in real time."

Social Networking And Sales
At their core, events bring together individuals with a common interest. "With social networks, event attendees can congregate before an event, get excited and spread the word," added Anolik. We chose to integrate Facebook and Twitter functionality into the Tickets Oregon site to provide event promoters with a simple, yet affordable way to connect with potential fans.
