Ingham Intermediate School District Selects Pearson's PowerSchool® Premier as New Student Information System
Pearson announced today that the Ingham Intermediate School District (ISD) in Mason, Mich., has selected Pearson's PowerSchool Premier as its new web-based student information system (SIS).

Ingham ISD joins more than 200 districts in Michigan already successfully using PowerSchool Premier. Daryl Tilley, supervisor of information systems at Ingham ISD, said the district was pleased with Pearson's extensive presence in Michigan, "Pearson has been serving the needs of school districts in Michigan for an extended period of time."
Ingham ISD's consortium of six school districts, which is comprised of more than 7,800 students and nearly 400 teachers, was previously operating from several student information systems, including KRESA, SDS and Pearson's SASI. Upgrading to PowerSchool Premier will help consolidate costs while increasing usability. "Bringing several districts onto a common platform will allow for a higher level of support between districts," Tilley said.
"(The Consortium) identified and reviewed five popular student management systems. PowerSchool was identified as having a combination of customizability, flexibility, ease of use, powerful set of features and overall value that was best among the competition," he added.
With Pearson's PowerSchool Premier, teachers will now be able to access and input student data at their convenience, 24 hours per day, seven days per week. And, Ingham ISD will be able to store data in one centralized location, enabling the seamless generation of attendance records, grade checks, report cards and transcripts.
"Ingham ISD understood that the information provided by a new SIS would positively impact student performance and district reporting processes," said Paul Fletcher, president of the School Systems group of Pearson. "Pearson provided the right solution in PowerSchool Premier. The system's strong feature set and scalability will meet the district's long-term informational and real-time communication needs."
PowerSchool Premier also will serve as a communications backbone for Ingham ISD. Through PowerSchool Premier's robust set of tools, the system will provide access to secure, real-time student information through a web browser -- effectively creating an interactive dialogue between parents, students and teachers. Additional benefits, such as master scheduling and reporting capabilities, will lend substantial efficiencies to the district.
Ingham ISD expects five of the six consortium members to complete the implementation of PowerSchool Premier by fall 2009, with the remaining district beginning implementation during the spring of 2010.
