Pippa Mann Selects Petrol Eyewear

Firestone Indy Lights Racer Joins a Growing List of Professional Drivers Drawn to Petrol's Superior Optics and Refined Frame Styling

Huntington Beach, Calif. (PRWEB) June 4, 2009 -- As the Firestone Indy Lights Series revs into high gear this summer, rookie driver Pippa Mann will be protecting her eyes trackside in Petrol Eyewear's polarized driving sunglasses. Mann joins the ranks of IndyCar's Ryan Briscoe, American Le Mans driver Chapman Ducote, and Max Angelelli of the Rolex Sports Car Series as professional racers now wearing Petrol. Particularly fond of Petrol's Apex and Enforcer styles, Mann immediately recognized Petrol's dedication to lens quality without sacrificing style.

"Sharp, clear vision and lightweight, comfortable frames," remarked Mann. "Petrol is ahead of the field in developing products that look as good as they perform."

Born in London, Mann began racing karts at age 13. She steadily built her driving resume in European motorsports, racing Formula Renault 2.0 UK, and later the World Series by Renault 3.5 Championship. She was the first woman to earn a pole position and the first to score a point in that series. This season she's transitioned to the Firestone Indy Lights Series, piloting the Panther Racing #16 car. Often dubbed "The Fast Track to Indy," the Indy Lights Series has helped 14 drivers graduate to IndyCar competition since its formation in 2002.

Now available at petroleyewear.com and select retail locations, the Petrol Eyewear line includes a variety of high-performance Grilamid/plastic frames along with metal, acetate and ultra-light titanium models. Most styles feature the company's signature Repelium™ lens--a multi-layer polycarbonate with an ultra-slick surface that resists scratches, smudges, oils, water, fogging and fingerprints. An anti-reflective coating on the inside surface eliminates eye strain-inducing "bounce-back" glare, while Petrol light filtering technology provides 100% protection from harmful UV rays and damaging, high-intensity visible light. Optically correct and distortion-free, Petrol Repelium lenses are individually cast and vacuum-coated in France and Italy. Petrol driving sunglasses range in price from $120-180 USD and carry a one-year warranty.
