Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) June 4, 2009 -- In response to recent reports that job seekers are struggling to find jobs, CollegeRecruiter.com compiled lists of the five best and worst states for finding internships and entry level jobs. The data was gathered through a state-by-state search on the site; the lists will be updated every month to help students and entry level job candidates know how many opportunities are available to them and in which states.
While there were many states that showed a slight reduction in the number of listings they provided, others had as much as 41% fewer listings than this time in May. Despite that, there are still scores of internships and entry level jobs ready and waiting for the right candidate to apply. Except for Washington, D.C. and Massachusetts, larger states, which traditionally account for the largest number of entry level job and internship listings, showed a gain or loss of less than 10% of the listings they provided this time in May.
The states with the largest number of internship listings on CollegeRecruiter.com in June are California down 0.26% from 2,269 to 2,263, New York down 9% from 1,690 to 1,537, Texas up 1% from 1,156 to 1,170, Florida up 7.6% from 762 to 820, and Massachusetts up 45% from 473 to 686.
