Festival Mozaic Summer Music Series Single Tickets Now on Sale

San Luis Obispo's summer music festival, to be held from July 16-26, 2009, will feature renowned guest artists and the musical influences of diverse cultures

San Luis Obispo, CA (PRWEB) June 5, 2009 -- Festival Mozaic (formerly the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival) has announced that single tickets for its 2009 summer season are now on sale. The 39th Annual Festival will take place July 16 to 26, 2009, and offers a musical immersion into five centuries of some of the world's greatest and evolving classical music. This summer's programming theme focuses on "world roots" and explores how different global locations influenced the music that grew out of diverse cultures.

Music Director Scott Yoo and an international roster of musicians will explore the music of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Copland, Grieg, Golijov, Stravinsky and Bartók among others, in performances of chamber music, orchestral works, and classical 'cross-genre' music in more than 16 concerts and events. New this year, the Festival has introduced its Notable Encounters series of one-hour 'cocktail-hour' concerts in which the musicians add lively commentary to a 'set' of chamber music. Two of the four Notable Encounter events in the series are now sold out.

Over 7,000 audience members enjoy concerts in historic and spectacular Festival sites such as the Hearst Castle (July 25), the historic San Luis Obispo Mission (July 23), the hilltop venue of Chapel Hill in Paso Robles' wine country (July 18), the state-of-the-art Cohan Performing Arts Center in San Luis Obispo, as well as San Luis Obispo County's many scenic wineries, parks and gardens. In addition to having a world-class music experience, visitors also take advantage of the Central Coast's abundance of fine wineries, restaurants, and hiking, biking, boating and seaside activities.

The classical line-up welcomes internationally-recognized pianist John Novacek, Tchaikovsky Competition winner cellist Bion Tsang and Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra concertmaster/violinist Steven Copes as featured soloists. In its ongoing series of classically-trained artists working in other musical genres, the Festival will also present San Francisco's Orchestra Nostalgico, a nine-piece jazz ensemble, at an outdoor concert at Vina Robles Winery in Paso Robles.

Single ticket prices start at $17. Multi-ticket packages are also available for a 20 percent savings off single ticket prices. Tickets may be ordered online at http://www.festivalmozaic.com or by calling (805) 781-3009 / (877) 881-8899.
