hfa to Compete at National ADDY Awards

A get well card created for Akron, Ohio, Deputy Mayor Dave Lieberth that won ADDY Awards at the local and district levels will now compete for a 2009 National ADDY Award.

Akron, Ohio (PRWEB) June 5, 2009 -- A get well card created for Akron, Ohio, Deputy Mayor Dave Lieberth that won ADDY Awards at the local and district levels will now compete for a 2009 National ADDY Award.

Akron-based marketing communications firm Hitchcock, Fleming & Associates Inc. (hfa) designed the card as a show of support for the deputy mayor during his recovery from heart surgery.

The card is a mock front page of Akron's daily newspaper, the Akron Beacon Journal. It features a tongue-in-cheek centerpiece image of the city in ruins as alien ships and various movie monsters are free to roam the streets during Lieberth's absence. Multiple spoof articles examine various aspects of the "crisis," including a presidential response, a tribute from a local sports team and celebrity reaction.

The National ADDY Awards conference is scheduled for June 4 through 6 in Arlington, Virginia.

In February, hfa was honored with a total of nine Akron and Cleveland local-level ADDY Awards. To view the creative work, including the Dave Lieberth get well card, please visit www.teamhfa.com/PR/2009_ADDY_Awards.
