Need for Applied Financial Education Reflected in New Website, cqf.com

7city Learning, a global financial services training company, today announced the launch of cqf.com, the new website for the firm's renowned Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) course. The CQF is the largest and fastest-growing quant course in the world.

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 4, 2009 -- 7city Learning, a global financial services training company, today announced the launch of cqf.com, the new website for the firm's renowned Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) course.

The CQF is the largest and fastest-growing quant course in the world. It is a six month part time program designed to provide high-level training for individuals working in, or intending to move into, derivatives, development, quantitative trading or risk management. The CQF is unique in its structured approach and commitment to the field of real-world quantitative finance.

cqf.com is the new interactive platform providing access to information about the course. The website has been designed to specifically showcase 7city's unsurpassed distance learning technology, the practicality of the CQF and its global reach. This standalone website is seen as a benchmark of the program's success. Features of cqf.com include:

  • Webcast samples of key lectures and 7city's unique learning methodologies

  • Biographical information on the CQF's world-renowned faculty, including Dr Paul Wilmott, Dr Espen Haug and Dr Peter Jackel

  • Informational videos about the course, featuring course assessments from alumni and interviews with faculty

  • The latest testimonials from companies and individuals

  • Interactive alumni maps, showing where and when the CQF's 1200 alumni took the program

  • Information on course delivery details including both classroom sessions and the award-winning distance learning

  • Application details including a seamless online application process and a portal for asking additional questions.

Previously sitting under the guise of www.7city.com/cqf, the course has grown so rapidly (995% since the course started in 2003) that a stand-alone website was a pro-active solution to sufficiently meet ever-increasing interest in the course.

"It is extremely important for banks and other financial institutions to educate their staff in practical quant finance," explained Paul Wilmott, Course Director for the CQF. "Rather than regurgitate formulaic quantitative tools, products and methods, the CQF gives delegates all the necessary mathematical and analytical tools while always questioning assumptions and helping delegates to formulate new ideas and models for themselves. This new website reflects this course philosophy."

The CQF was developed through a partnership between Dr Paul Wilmott and 7city Learning, and draws professionals from hedge funds, asset management firms, and banks. In addition, the course attracts individuals from mathematics or science-based backgrounds outside of finance, who are exploring career options in financial services. The new website allows prospective delegates to review the course, and learn more, at their leisure.

Paul Wilmott added: "We found that people who are interested in this unique course wanted a better demonstration of our superior teaching methodologies, how it stands alone in its practicality and the quality of our practitioner-led faculty. This fresh site does all this and more."
