The Hignell Companies Celebrates the 90th Birthday of their Founder, Fred Hignell Sr.
The Hignell Companies was proud to see Fred Hignell Sr. the founder of The Hignell Companies, turn 90! Family and friends gathered from all over the world to celebrate this amazing man.
Chico, Ca (Vocus/PRWEB ) June 10, 2009 - 61 years ago in 1948, Fred Hignell Sr. partnered with Floyd Strange in the construction of over 1,000 homes in 25 subdivisions, in addition to apartment and commercial projects. Doug Hignell joined his father in 1970, bringing with him new vitality and an expanded vision for the company. Emphasis changed to real estate syndication and property management services, teaming with a solid group of investors. Next was the formation of a professional management team and the company began to grow from there!
Who would have imagined the company that exists today, a company that grew out of Fred's desire to serve the community and do things right. Doug Hignell said of his father, "He taught me more about business than any single individual or educational program could have. My dad knew business and he knew the North State. It was a pleasure to step in and help him take the company to where it is today. His legacy is strong and I am grateful to God for him every day."
Nearly 80 people came to the party, held at the Sterling Oaks Apartment recreation room. Family and friends traveled from Minnesota, Oregon, and all over California, and even came as far away as China to honor Fred Hignell Sr. in a small party at his son's home. It was a sweet celebration of a man who gave his life away. From a partnership of 2, to a company that now employs over 150 people, Fred's life is evidence that one man can truly make an impact in the lives of many. Everyone at The Hignell Companies joins the family in saying both thank you and Happy Birthday to Fred!
