Blog takes An Irreverent Look At The People In Charge of Screwing Things Up

In what she sees as camaraderie with her fellow bad boss sufferers, Denise Dawson launched Really Bad Boss - http://www.reallybadboss.com/ - earlier this year. The result - a funny and often irreverent look at the people in charge of screwing things up. The blog defines a boss as anyone who manages anything, and a Really Bad Boss as one who does it really badly. With a definition that broad, no one's off limits. Think The Daily Kos meets Huff Post meets Post Secret.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 10, 2009 - After three layoffs in twice as many years, Denise Dawson said she'd had enough. Some layoffs are unavoidable, but in her case she says, bad management - really bad management - led to the turmoil and eventual layoffs at her former company. Determined to make the most of a bad situation, Denise put her marketing and writing skills to work creating and launching a blog that in her words "is for anyone who has ever suffered through a Really Bad Boss." In what she sees as camaraderie with her fellow bad boss sufferers, Denise launched Really Bad Boss - http://www.reallybadboss.com/ - earlier this year. The result - a funny and often irreverent look at the people in charge of screwing things up. While only a few months old, the blog has had several hundred visitors and is generating a loyal following among people frustrated with what they see as a growing culture of mismanagement. Reallybadboss.com has also been featured in the online blog sections of The Chicago Sun Times, Fox News and The Huffington Post.

The blog defines a boss as anyone who manages anything, and a Really Bad Boss as one who does it really badly. With a definition that broad, no one's off limits. Think The Daily Kos meets Huff Post meets Post Secret. A mix of political satire, topical new stories and personal accounts of Really Bad Bosses submitted by readers, this blog is a stand out from the rest. The best aspect of the site is readers' ability to remain anonymous while posting their own Really Bad Boss anecdotes - many of which end up as featured blog posts. Like one boss who commonly referred to his employees as "the fat guy, the black guy and the Asian." Denise says, "People tell me what a relief it is to be able to share their bad boss stories on the site. It's catharsis and a little bit of sweet revenge in one neat package."

Other posts include details of Denise's personal experiences with a string of really bad bosses, including the one she says repeatedly used the Jim Jones' cult's mass suicide as a motivational tool. "He kept telling us we needed to drink the Kool-Aid...even after we reminded him that in the end, everyone died." The blog even tackles politicians - check out the post "Thou shalt not Steele" where RNC Chair Michael Steele is mocked for his flip-flopping, hip-hopping ways. Former Illinois Senator, Rod Blogojevich, who Denise describes as "a Really Bad Boss gold mine," is another of the site's favorite targets.

Creator, Denise Dawson thinks we can learn valuable lessons from the really bad bosses around us. "We're saying - let's look at what these really bad bosses are doing, and do the exact opposite. In these times of mass layoffs and economic uncertainty, we might not be able to leave our really bad bosses, but we can learn from their mistakes and have a little fun in the process."
