VirtualAgility Names Charles O. Staples to Board of Directors

VirtualAgility announces that Charles O. Staples, former President of Mettler-Toledo Thornton, Inc. has joined its board of directors effective May 8, 2009.

Winchester, MA (PRWEB) June 10, 2009 -- Mr. Staples, a former management consultant and long-time entrepreneur, has been a supporter of VirtualAgility since its inception and will bring his management expertise to bear in support of the company's rapid growth.

"VirtualAgility is the kind of firm I've enjoyed most," Mr. Staples said. "Its technology is highly innovative and broadly applicable. We haven't begun to find all the ways in which it can be used. But where it has been applied, it has had a transformative effect."

Mr. Staples grew Thornton Inc., a process control instrumentation firm, by a factor of five before arranging its sale to Mettler. Over a long and varied career he has been involved in a number of successful start-ups in the computer software and services fields. He has held positions ranging from CFO to President and General Manager. His expertise in nurturing small companies, building successful teams and developing financing strategies has benefitted a number of early-stage software and technology-based companies.

VirtualAgility president Stuart Rudolph calls Mr. Staples "…an outstanding executive. Chuck's management and financial acumen constitute a most timely and valuable addition to our board. His experience in working with computer software and other technology companies is unique. We're very lucky to have him working with us."

An avid sportsman, Mr. Staples has run marathons and skied slalom races with all three of his children and climbed Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua and Mt. Elbrus with his two sons.

Mr. Staples holds a BS from MIT and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School.
