Dallas, TX (PRWEB) June 10, 2009 -- PLiNTH & CHiNTZ, the unique "blogzine" that has served as a virtual mentor to emerging interior designers for almost five years, has invited its readers to share digital photos and videos of their 2009 NeoCon® World's Trade Fair's adventures on the magazine's Facebook page.
PLiNTH & CHiNTZ Founder & Owner, Laura McDonald Stewart, sees this interactivity as a natural extension of her sponsorship of the inaugural Student Lounge, Student Raffle Prize and Wednesday, June 17th edition of ASID Show Daily during the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID - http://www.asid.org/) National Conference at NeoCon 2009.
NeoCon is North America's largest conference and exhibition for interior design, and the 2009 show will take place June 15 - 17 at Chicago's well-known Merchandise Mart. The ASID Student Lounge, which will be located on the 8th floor in Suite 8-3136, will be a casual oasis for students and emerging designers to take a break from the busy show floor. Interior design legends will rotate in and out of the lounge to speak to students, giving them advice, sharing industry anecdotes and answering plenty of questions. The ASID Student Design Competition winning entries will also be on display.
A Professional member of ASID and frequent NeoCon attendee, Stewart is thrilled to have this opportunity to reach out to students in such a shaky job market: "Students email me constantly, panicked about how to find an entry-level position -- or even just an internship -- to get their interior design careers on track. Having graduated in similar conditions, I am in the unique position to offer support and encouragement. The Student Lounge will be the perfect place for all the stressed-out emerging designers out there to drop by, relax and recharge between hours hitting the aisles to network with potential employers and exploring the diverse nature of the business."
Since the sheer size of NeoCon can be as overwhelming as it is exciting, PLiNTH & CHiNTZ encourages readers to share all elements of their conference experience: from road tripping to the Windy City and sharing an elevator with visitors from multiple countries to rubbing elbows with industry movers-n-shakers at showroom parties and tiredly dragging themselves home. PLiNTH & CHiNTZ will post the "Top P&C Pix" to its Facebook Page the week after NeoCon.
About PLiNTH & CHiNTZ, The Online Interior Design Magazine:
Founder & Owner, Laura McDonald Stewart, RID | ASID | IIDA conceived of PLiNTH & CHiNTZ as a forum to educate interior design students on topics that are not often taught in design school. Everything from interacting with clients to knowing how to work with a furniture dealer is addressed on the site. Educators who have discovered PLiNTH & CHiNTZ recommend it to their students and even list it in their syllabi as a resource, especially for its lightheartedly written glossary of design terms, industry member profiles and etiquette lessons. Practicing interior designers cruise the site for new information and sources due to its easily digestible format, and manufacturers contribute articles and advertise on the site to get their brands in front future specifiers, both future and current.
