Spokane, WA (PRWEB) June 10, 2009 -- Winning Time, the EPA-approved chip timing producer, once again served as the official timer of the Lilac Bloomsday Run. For the fourth year in a row, one of the world's largest running races chose Winning Time as their chip-timing provider because of the accuracy, reliability, and eco-friendly products and services. "Every year we work hard to provide the race with the highest level of accuracy possible," says Julia Vitarello, VP of Winning Time Americas, "and this year we were able to support Bloomsday's 'Getting Greener' initiative, which stresses environmentally friendly practices."
The race made great efforts this year to minimize the impact it has on the planet. Along with promoting public transportation and composting hundreds of thousands of water cups, Bloomsday's use of the Winning Time system promoted eco-friendly timing through the use of long-lasting, easily removable timing chips. Unlike disposable alternatives, Winning Time's chips can be used for ten to twenty years, reducing landfill contributions for a race of this size up to 1 million chips. Registration this year increased by nearly 8%, jumping to well over the 50,000 mark. "We were pleased to see the significant growth at this year's race, especially given the current economic climate," comments Don Kardong, Race Director of the Lilac Bloomsday Run. "It's great to see that going green may actually help an event grow."
As the race industry continues to lean toward more eco-friendly services, Winning Time continues to provide races with the highest level timing solutions and top-level customer support, all while reducing the negative impacts on the planet.
