RaboPlus Online Sponsors of SBS Tour de France Coverage

RaboPlus today announced it would be the third official broadcast sponsor for this year's Tour de France, broadcast by SBS and the exclusive sponsor of a new fantasy cycling game.

Sydney, NSW -- RaboPlus today announced it would be the third official broadcast sponsor for this year's Tour de France, broadcast by SBS and the exclusive sponsor of a new fantasy cycling game.

The Tour de France and cycling in general has a long and esteemed history with the Rabobank Group around the world. Rabobank will again be fielding its own cycling team and has high hopes for success following on from Rabobank team rider Denis Menchov's victory in this year's Giro d'Italia.

The Tour De France starts on July 4, finishing on July 26 this year.
The sponsorship includes on-air branding and a host of online involvement in the SBS Tour de France website.

Greg McAweeney, RaboPlus General Manager said the sponsorship is an unrivalled opportunity to engage with the cycling community and that RaboPlus would use its close ties with the Rabobank Pro Team to provide exclusive cycling content on the RaboPlus website. Offering an 'insider's view of the Tour', RaboPlus will host diary updates posted by the Rabobank cycling team, as well as exclusive video interviews and photos. Daily news updates will be provided by a dedicated Rabobank journalist following the Rabobank team throughout the Tour.

"This unique insider's view of how Rabobank manages its Pro Team through 21 arduous stages will be captivating," he said.

Mr McAweeney said the launch of Australia's first-ever SBS RaboPlus Fantasy Tour de France would create even greater interest in this year's Tour as fans used their cycling knowledge to try to assemble a winning cycling team online.

RaboPlus has exclusive sponsorship of the fantasy game as part of the overall SBS Tour de France sponsorship, and expects it to be extremely popular with the Australian cycling community. Winners of the game will receive cash prizes in a RaboPlus Savings Account of $10,000 for first, $3,000 for second, and $2,000 for third.

Mr McAweeney said RaboPlus would also be running competitions for customers and the general public to win packs of Rabobank cycling gear and a limited edition Giant TCR Advanced Rabobank racing bike valued at $3,499.
